Transcript of Our Ceremony

W E L C O M E

We are coming together today here at this beautiful place
to celebrate the wedding of Charlotte and Scott. We have
come to confirm this Union and to rejoice in
love and its possibilities.

I N V O C A T I O N

So we ask for guidance and blessings for this couple and their common future.

G E N E R A L   W O R D S   A B O U T   M A R R I A G E

Each Union that is created out of the right intentions
gives rise to the ability to experience life more fully and
more richly not only for the two in union but as well as
for their surroundings, family and friends.

Two people coming together in alignment with their
beliefs and faiths willing to share and create a common future.
Marriage is not a ceremony but an ongoing commitment and
process. Each day of the rest of your lives you will make
choices. You will choose whether to be kind and patient
with each other. You will choose whether to find fault or
whether to be forgiving.

It is only through commitment that you can discover true
intimacy in which hidden parts of yourselves are permitted
to come forth, find acceptance, and help you become whole.

Love is always patient and kind, it is never jealous,
love is never boastful or conceited, it is never rude or selfish.

It does not take offense, and is not resentful.
Love takes no pleasure in other peoples faults but delight in
the truth always ready to trust, to excuse, to hope, and to
endure whatever comes. Love does not come to an end.

Marriage is the promise made and kept between two people
with intentions of trusting, supporting and loving each other.
This will help you to grow as individuals as well as a couple
and will allow you to see the other as your soul sees them - as
beautiful and powerful spirits of God.

We now will witness as Charlotte and Scott confirm their union with the
four elements, as symbol of the purity of new beginnings with unlimited potential for natural growth.

[We fill four different colors of sand in a bottle]

RED - FIRE
We ask for LOVE and PASSION for this union.

BLUE - WATER
Sharing your emotions, having compassion for each other,
laughing and crying together.

GREEN - EARTH
We ask for abundance and prosperity for your projects and family.

WHITE - AIR
Stay open for each other, communicate honest and loving and
support each others growth.

 

True partnership is only achieved by separate and whole beings
who retain their individuality even as they unite.

I promise to trust, encourage, and support you...

To show you patience and tenderness...

To share with you joy and sorrow, laughter and tears...

And to bring passion and adventure to our marriage.

I promise to cherish each day with you as though it were our last...

And I promise to love you for as long as I live.

 

May these rings be blessed as a symbol of this Unity, may
these two find the love in each other that all people
long for, may they always return to eachother in their
togetherness and may they establish a home together in which
many will find a friend there.

Charlotte and Scott you both found a place
were life slowed down for you long enough to see it... and to
discover something that did not merely wake you up, but opened
your eyes and as a result you today stand here committing to
each other giving you the most beautiful gift anyone can give,
the gift of yourself.

You have shared this moment and promises
with family and friends as a symbol of loving each other.
You have formed your own Union in friendship
and respect for one another and in love. Therefore, it is my honor
and with great pleasure I present you as husband and wife.

In honor of the past which brought us all here, to give thanks for the blessings of the present and to envoke more abundance of love and blessings for the future we will give a offering of flowers to the ocean.

[Everyone has flowers ready to toss into the ocean as an offering]

As we send these flowers on their journey we are honoring Charlotte's and Scott's journey together throughout life.

Now you will feel no rain, for each of you will be shelter to the other.
Now you will feel no cold, for each of you will be warmth for the other.
Now there will be no loneliness, for each other of you will be companion for the other.
Now you are two persons but there is only one life before you.
May beauty surround you both in your journey ahead and through all the years.
May happiness be your companion and your days together be good and long upon the earth.
